October like Fall-leaves and pumpkins

October is the month that mostly reminds me of fall. Yes, the heat is gone and so are long hours of light; the weather gets back to be rainy and the days colder.

But autumn also brings many beautiful surprises: nature gets back its bright colors after the drought of the summer months; trees fill their branches with gorgeous orange, yellow and red shades; in the morning, dew decorates leaves and flowers with its shiny, crystalline drops while making the air crispy and clean.

So, when in the fields it is the time of harvesting crops, we can start enjoying the warmth of our homes, but also still spend nice days outside delighted by the little gifts that nature presents us with during this beautiful month.

It is now time to wish everyone a happy harvest and prepare for a spooky Halloween, without forgetting that “Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” – Albert Camus

March like Spring-Flowers&Butterflies

March means spring, not only because this is the month in which the season officially begins, but also because its days are full of the little things that this period brings to warm our hearts.

The first days of tepid sun and light; the smell of freshly cut grass; the buzz of bees flying around colorful newly bloomed flowers, the sound of birds singing to welcome the re-birth of nature; the blue sky; the perfume of hyacinths and pansies re-emerging from the ground in our gardens…

our world goes back to be full of colors, perfumes, joyful songs, and light...this is March, this is a month I love!

January like White-snow&snowflakes

January is for sure the month of snow. In my hometown, we usually get only a few days of falling flakes, but each time they make me as happy as a child.

The only thing I can see are the small and candid pieces of sky slowly falling on the ground and covering the grey streets, cars and buildings with a shiny white blanket.

I love to stare at those little fluffy beauties while they calmly wander out of my window; I love the snow-smelling crispy air when I go out; I love how the city mysteriously becomes so silent, with every movement made softer; I love the intricate white shapes of bare trees and bushes in the parks and gardens; I love to play with snowballs (or at least my 5 years old inner child does!); I love to see footsteps on the sidewalk in the morning...

…I love snowflakes, I love snow, I love January!

November like Warmth-berries&candles

Outside the cold has arrived: trees lost their leaves, the sky is grey, rain and fog keep us company almost every day, ...but even November has its little moments!

Yes! When we open the door and are suddenly surrounded by the warmth of our home, we just breathe, close our eyes and enjoy that perfect moment. We can light a candle; sit on the sofa, wrapped in a blanket and look outside through the window at the rain falling, while holding a hot chocolate in our hands. We can bake an apple pie and enjoy the sweet smell that fills the house (ehm…ok, I just pour apple-cinnamon fragrance in the diffuser on top of the candle
:-) …lazy me!).

But this is November: candles, pie, fireplace, blanket, hot chocolate, berries…and, yes, cold, grey, fog and rain…but don’t be so mad at them, they are just making those warm moments special!
